This is my first time building a computer. I build the whole computer with the stock GPUs to test the mob, memory, install windows 7, and GPUs before taking the GPUs apart to attach the nzxt g10/h55. Everything was working perfect. I updated the BIOS, ran meatiest with no problems, installed drivers(CDs came with products), and even installed steam and played Tomb Raider on max settings. After no errors came up, I took apart the GPUs to add the nzxt g10/h55.

Installed windows updates per notifications and nvidia's and now my computer won't boot normally and will be in a restart loop with it prompting me for (safe mode/safe mode w/ networking, etc.). I get a black screen after putting in my password. It will only boot in safe mode. I restored to the default settings in BIOS. I then wiped the SSD and reinstalled windows and its fine again. Then iI installed my wifi pcie card driver, chrome, and bitDefender, and the nvidia driver(downloaded from website) and now it has the same problem again.

I'm not sure if its the drivers (windows updates or Nvidia) or if my GPU doesn't have enough power to run the fans I connected to it. I installed 3 fans (1 x nzxt fan that comes with the g10 + 2 x 120mm). And if it is the drivers, it will make me paranoid not to update them ever again.

If you are still reading this far down and haven't left yet. Thanks!

You have a nice build here. I see where you said that you reinstalled windows after you added the liquid cooling to your graphics cards, and everything was running fine, until you installed the wi-fi, and Nvidia drivers.

How long did you test run it before updating the last drivers?

Do you have the latest ASUS Bios installed?

Have you tried to run it with only one graphics card in?

I know a lot of questions, but this is a real odd problem that could be several different problems.

Last night after posting this. I wiped the hard drive again and installed all the CD drivers, chrome, and BitD. none of the newer nvidia drivers updates. I was able to shut down and boot back up to windows normally. I woke up this morning and booted on my computer and it is back to safe modes only.

@Whtwolf - The testing before the installation of the liquid cooling on the GPUS was 1 1/2hr for memtest, 1hr of gaming, and 30mins of cinebench. I did have the latest BIOS installed at the time 2days ago and just updated again last night. Yes, I tried one graphics card.

@Neur0naut- only stock drivers now

I couldn't install it in Safe Mode. "The Windows Installer Serice could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed."

Also i wrote down the error code i get when I successfully boot into Safe Mode.

"Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown"

That is a graphics BCCode, and there is a whole lot of stuff on the net about this code. I am sorry, but I can not think of much else without actually laying my hands on your computer. Try and read some of the posts where they have solved their 116 code problems.

Have you checked in Windows Event Viewer, under Windows logs>system for any error/warning entries? It might give you more to go on.

Win key + R
eventvwr (enter)
Use filter on the right hand side pane to only show warnings, critical, and errors.

Post a screenshot or eventvwr log here and I'll take a look.
