Hey Guys!

This is my first post and build. So, let's do this!

I mainly play CS GO but will dabble in some mmo rpg's and moba's here and there. Not too much though. I currently have a custom gaming computer, built by an old friend around 3-4 years ago, and everything seems to be outdated. I went ahead and bought a new monitor, BenQ XL 2720z, and realized that it's too much for my current setup. I can run games but I feel like my gpu is straining. So I figured it's now time to upgrade.

I don't really have a budget but I'm not looking for some 4K AI super NASA computer. I'd like to be as up to date with speed and parts while maintaining a reasonable budget. I want to learn as much as possible here so I took the liberty of putting a list of possible purchases together. My main worry is that I spend the money, wait for parts, put it together, and realizing parts aren't compatible. Yes, I will be putting it together myself. But no worries, I got a buddy whose going to make sure I do it right.

So I guess the main questions are the following.
1. Will the parts below piece together and will this setup be able to game at high graphic levels.
2. I would also like to dual screen with the game on one screen and music or something open on another. Will this setup do that without dropping FPS during game play?
3. Please let me know if anything is overkill and where I can save money and where I should think about pushing a little more.

Parts List:
(I went ahead and bought my CPU because it was on sale. It's an Intel i7 4790K)
- Rosewill THOR V2-W, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case, White Edition - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX
- Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
- G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model F3-2400C11D-8GXM
- ASUS Z97-PRO GAMER LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
- SAMSUNG 850 EVO MZ-75E250B/AM 2.5" 250GB SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
- CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

For GPU I picked a couple. I'm not sure which one would be a better fit.
- MSI GeForce GTX 970 GTX 970 4GD5T OC G-SYNC Support Video Card
- ASUS GeForce GTX 970 STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 G-SYNC Support Video Card
- MSI GeForce GTX 970 GTX 970 GAMING 4G G-SYNC Support Video Card

So there it is! I want to Thank You All in advance on all the advice I get moving forward.

Much Appreciated,

1. You want a very powerful computer with only 1 gpu?
2. Your psu seems to be too much. It's 12v rail supplies almost twice as much power as needed by your system. RM450 seems to be enough.
3. The three GPU's that you listed each have their own advantages and disadvantages. So much so that they cancel each other out. I suggest that you go for the cheaper card you could get.

do not buy a corsair stuff psu..go with seasonic/xfx/antec hcg-truepower/evga B2-G2/rosewill capstone 500W and up

about the gpu card ...choose between thoses

I have never owned a computer with more than 1 gpu. I feel like any more would be overkill for what I want to accomplish with this computer. Which is games with very good fps, while dual screening, and normal day to day usage.

Thanks badboyrog2! I will look into the cards and take the corsair psu off the list. :)
