First Gaming PC please help

I currently have $290 and I was looking to buy a pc for around this price My friend built his pc for $280 and it can play most games with really good fps I mostly would like to play minecraft with really high fps. I was just wondering if anyone could either put some parts together for me or find me a good pc that runs well! Thnx

If you are talking about a desktop, then for $290 (USD) you would be hard pressed to assemble all the pieces even on the low end that could play most games reasonably well. It may be possible but the low end you often see is atleast $400 since you will need an OS and mouse and keyboard etc. As for what you could do with $300 there are some nice laptops with A6 APUs that can play minecraft (really anything can play minecraft).

You can build a pretty good gaming PC for $280, IF YOU BUY USED PARTS. Are you in the USA? If you are, eBay is the place to get stuff. The last 7 computers that I have built all costed less than $80 to build. But they were not gaming computers. I could easily have built them for gaming for another $100 per unit. That would be a core 2 quad, 4 to 8 GB ram and a GPU that is a few years old, like a Radeon 5830. Not the fastest computer in the world but good enough for most games at low to medium settings. You could buy a used PC on eBay and upgrade the cpu, gpu and ram for under $280
