First Gaming PC

Hey guys I've been looking around the internet and I can't seem to get a build going. If anyone could share a build for around $1000 that can run higher end games I'd appreciate it. I'd be willing to go as high as $1200 if needed. Also would you recommend windows 7 or 8?

I'm literally building a pc for gaming around 1000-12000 also..Here is what people has suggested to me though you can tweak it a little. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3E2lq As for windows 7/8 I think windows 7 better just because the layout is familiar, but I would get 8.1 because it was easy to learn and it has better performance than 7. Also, programs will begin to make programs that cater to the way it handles data.
