Hello All,
Im looking to build my first gaming PC. My budget is $500. I've put together something but I wanted to get the communities opinion on this build. I want to be able to play games like Skyrim with mods. It doesn't have to be on ultra settings but I'd like to at least get as high as I can (obviously). Any advice or recommendations you could through at me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

But recommending the cheapest board one can buy is not wise, be it Intel or AMD.
I recommended a much better board with 8+2 VRM power phasing vs 4+1 on the other.
Someone else as I said recomened the cheapest she could find. Again not wise.

Keeping to the price of your first setup;

RAM is CAS9 vs your CAS11 - Lower latency timings are better, 9 should be the for 1600mhz
For those who don't use rosewill psu's, it's a Tier 2A
cpu/mobo you can play with as per your needs and budget, i3 4130 used as suggested above, could upgrade to a 4330 for +$25 for a slight boost

Tell me why this is in ANY way worse. Don't even mention power phasing as it has nothing to do with anything on this board because you will not be overclocking.

Great build. Definitely recommend it.

Great build, but if OP was gonna spend just a bit more it should be on the GPU, $30 more there nets you a R9 280 instead.

you made it seem like an H97 board is junk. It is not. It is the second best chipset you can get for the 1150 socket. Just like your AMD board is the second best chipset for the AM3+ socket.

It is better than B85, H81, and H87 chipset boards, but not better than z97 boards. Z87 board I would rate about the same for more features, but older chipsets. So I guess 75% is more accurate, if that works better.

So no, I did not just make up some number.
