First Pc, advice?

I've been considering building a PC for a while now but haven't done it so far cause I don't know jack shit about how to do it. Anyway, I tried to pick the parts I think I'm gonna use and I'd appreciate any advice anyone has. I'm definitely not gonna spend more than 1500 CAD on it. So any other recommendations might need to keep that in mind. I already have a keyboard and a mouse and a friend of mine is gonna give me one of his monitors so they aren't in the list. Thanks for any and all help!

This is extremely powerful build. With GTX1080 you will get around 65% performance boost over GTX1060 or RX580 which is a huge gain. All are high quality components. No compromise build.

Hope you realize that even GTX1080 cannot maintain 60fps+ at very high to ultra settings in graphic intense games. But still GTX1080 will give you lot smoother experience with lot many titles which GTX1060 cannot maintain 60fps+ for over longer period of time.

Majority of the games give about 70-80 fps in 1080p ultra with a 1060/580, if you haven't set a crazy anti aliasing.

I would actually in this case suggest a 9600k z390 platform which can handle 144hz and be ready for a high res high frame rate monitor and gpu.

Hope that makes sense.

If he wants he choose this route. OP Get that RX Vega 64 from Newegg Canada or get GTX1080 and stick with the monitor he gets. Both are fine.
