Hey, I'm looking into build a PC for the first time. I have always just played games on Xbox, but looking to switch over since I have been playing more than I have in the past. I am trying to build it for less than 1000 canadian if that is possible. I've done some research and am wanting to compare with some other people. Please don't include a keyboard, mouse, or monitor. You should wait for the rtx 3000 cards to come out, it will drop the price for many older graphic card that you can buy.

Normally I would say yes but the pandemic has caused the price of GPUs to skyrocket in some countries. There's an overall shortage of 2XXX cards right now, but that should change when the 3XXX cards are released.
