Hello,

This is my first PC build (And first post on here)

I was looking at some Youtube videos and found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyRxPlElkcU

I decided to base my pc off of the build, here is my final list:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CvmHnH

Will these parts work together properly?

And there are also some Compatibility issues:

"The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled.

The motherboard M.2 slot #2 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled."

Thanks in advance.

Also, the r6 case supports "2x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0"

And for the mother board says:
"USB 3.1
3 x USB 3.1 gen2 ports (1 Type-C port [black] + 2 Type-A ports [red])
USB 1.1/2.0
4 x USB 2.0 ports [black]"

Is that the I/O shield?

I'm confused, because the usb ports are on the top of the case, while the I/O shield is different.

Would you mind explaining the difference?

Thanks,

That would mean that the motherboard supports USB 3.1 AND USB 2.0. The USB 3.1 ports on the rear (IO shield) have both types of USB 3.1 ports aswell as the regular USB 2.0 ports.

All of the connectors, buttons, LEd's on the front/top of the case are connected to the motherboard. The case 3.0 port will be connected to USB 3.1 and USB 2.0. Or there is probably a replacement that has the 3.1 labeled ports. That depends upon the case manufacturer.

But either way it will work out.

Why is the type C USB 3.1 gen 2 port not included with the Define R6?

As quickly 3.1 gen2 has caught on in the mobile world, is still very much a newcomer on the PC side of things and still very costly to include with the proper quality construction and materials we consider standard for cables and connectors on a Define series case.

USB 3.1 gen2 may be ubiquitous in the near future (assuming USB 3.2 doesn't get there first), but for now, there are still very few motherboards with 3.1 Gen2 headers and very few devices aside from phones that can take full advantage of it.

We know many have been asking for Gen2 support, but since most don't yet have a use for it we felt it best to give people a choice rather than charge everyone what would have been a significantly higher price.

Which is why we are going to be selling the Connect D1 separately for the people who really want to utilize the USB 3.1 gen2 front headers on their motherboards that have it.

Yes. In one case the USB 3.0 would actually be 3.1 . If you purchase the adapter, then you would have both types of USB 3.1 ports. The USB 2.0 ports would be there either way.

When USB 3.0 first came out, the cases were slow to catch up to. In that case the case adapter was free. But in the mean time people ran a USB 3.0 from rear ports to the front connector. So in the unlikely event the adapter isn't available, you can always do that too.

There are analogue and digital audio ports on the back of the PC. They are color coded so consult the Manual when plugging the speakers in.

Normally you would run an ethernet cable from the PC to the router. If you want to use WiFi, then you would need a WiFi NIC card for one of the PCIe slots.

Also, what speakers would you recommend?

Thanks

Why are you asking this again? Yes, it is a Cat 6 ethernet cable.

Here is a page of computer speakers sorted by ratings in the $50 - $200 range. Pick one. I would suggest Logitech or Creative Labs. I would suggest at least a 2.1 with a subwoofer. The subwoofer adds more to the sound than a half dozen little satellite speakers.
