So after I had build the PC and loaded windows 10 on to the hard drive I started to load the drivers for the mother board and video card but something weird started happening. Sometimes it would freeze at different points ether during the windows boot process, on the login screen, or in the actual account. I haven't been able to see any pattern yet as to when it freezes.

Any help would be well appreciated as Ive been working with this computer trying to get it to work.

Ok so I checked all the plugs and all of them are as far in as they will go, so it doesn't seem to be that.

How would I run the stress test if the computer freezes before I can access it. Also in trying to do so Ive noticed that it will freeze during the windows loading screen more often than not.

When you say freeze, are you saying that the computer freezes permanently and you have to force restart to solve it? It doesn't like lag for a minute and continue to work?

There is no freeze when you are in mobo bios settings? The freeze is exclusive to windows?

Yeah it does force a reset when it freezes and, yes it is exclusive to windows.

No windows error code, no mobo led indications, just a damn freeze. These are the most toughest troubleshooting to crack.

OK, I assume u have just installed win 10. Without the drivers? Since you have done fresh installs with 2 different release versions of windows, it again points back to hardware.

Try running it with a single stick of ram without the gpu, then double stick of ram, if that works then gpu.

BTW, ur drive indication led while running windows is blinking normally? Check it in an open case and hear the drive spinning if you have to. Can't imagine a new drive failing but it has happened.

Also, you are using ur rams in the matched dimms right? Alternate slots?

Ok so i had gone through all the combinations and none of them were working so just randomly decided with gpu in and one stick of ram to switch the ram from slot 2 to one. It was working great and when i finished installing the drivers and restarted so i could put the other ram in and move them to slot two and four, because that's where it wants me to arrange them. When i restarted the computer it froze again the same as it did before.

yeah it does the same with slot 1 and 3.

Yes they did come as a 2X8gb package, and i had looked at the xmp and it was set at about 2400 so i changed it to 3000 and the computer pretty much just shut off and reset without anything coming up on the screen. i looked on the light codes on the board and it said that the cpu and ram couldn't be detected or failed.

Ok I messed up a little it wasnt the xmp setting I changed it was the DRAM frequency, the actual xmp option says that its not supported

yeah the ram is only 2400mhz
