Question First PC build not working

I’ve just built my first PC following a guide but when I plug my hdmi into the PC and into the monitor it just says no signal,
My components are
Ryzen 5 3600
B450 Tomahawk
RTX 2070 XC
Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 3200Mhz
240GB CS900 SSD
EVGA 600 BR
And the deepcool matrexx 70 RGB case
Any help would be much appreciated

Have you updated the bios for 3rd gen support?

Your manual can explain how to do this.

Do any fans spin? Do any debug leds turn on?

yeah you need a bios update , these have flashback so you wont need another cpu .

Just download the bios file, rename it MSI.ROM and put it into the root of a FAT32 formatted USB. Put that USB into the bios flashback port and you're good to go

I've flashed it with v19 bios and a CPU debug light is on but the manual and website offer very little help on troubleshooting it

Try reseating ram and cpu.

Try clearing cmos.

I've reseated the RAM and cpu and cleared cmos but now when i plug the power supply in it makes a weird static noise and my PC wont even come on unless the power cable is held in the right place

Really i would suggest a stronger psu for that system anyway.

Id sell it and buy a better psu like a corsair txm, seasonic focus gold, corsair rm, evga g2. All with at leat 550w

my psu atm is 600w. is that not enough and do you think i should just take the build apart and start again from scratch

600w is ok but the BR units are a budget lineup. It should be ok, but considering the psu is making weird noises it might be a good idea to upgrade.

After doing some research elsewhere, I found someone with the exact same problem as me and they bought a new power supply like you suggested and that didn't fix it but it turns out their motherboard was fried so It looks like I need to purchase a new motherboard and hope no components are damaged. Thanks for all the help

Never, ever, attempt repairs to a power supply yourself. Not only can it void your warranty, but it can kill you aswell.

That is best left for EVGA to deal with.

Did you plug in the 8 pin cpu cable into the motherboard and all power supply cables into the graphics card? Do you see any diagnostic leds lit on the motherboard? If so use your motherboard's manual to look up the light.

All cables are properly plugged in and I've checked the mobo manual but the only thing it says about the CPU led debug is it means its not detected or a fail. It doesn't give any info on how to trouble shoot it

If the cpu light is on, carefully reseat the processor back into the socket.

I've tried that, there are no bent pins and no thermal paste on the pins so I believe my motherboard is fried.

So I removed the mobo from the case and disconnected all connections so now its just the CPU, mobo and PSU but the CPU debug LED is still on. I've checked the cpu and theres no bent pins, its in properly and theres no thermal paste on it so it makes me think the problem is the mobo or the PSU. Any ideas before I order a new PSU and potentially return the mobo?

If I can Wade in here , my first ever build in I fried the CPU and motherboard I put the wrong power connector on the CPU 12v ...I had no idea if done it wrong but I found my cpu had a burn mark on the pins ..it was Intel so you could see it .
