First time build idling at 60 Celsius and getting up to 100 Celsius

Hey all. I completed my first build yesterday and, after going through the Windows updates and installing the appropriate drivers, I downloaded Core Temp. To my dismay, I found that, with just sitting at the desktop, I was idling at around 50-60 degrees Celsius. I then checked my BIOS temp and found that it was right at 60 Celsius, as well. I jumped into a game of CS GO briefly to see what my temp would be and it increased to 100 at one point according to Core Temp. Here's my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4q2GRB

While this is my first build, I helped a friend build a nearly identical PC about a month ago. He ended up getting the Radeon R9 280X and I think a 600W PSU. We have the same CPU, however, and he has had none of the same issues. His PC has been idling at around 25 Celsius and barely increasing during games.

Can anyone lend some advice as to how to proceed from here? Thank you in advance!

Something is off for sure, the Haswell CPU's should be idle around the low to mid 30's and go up to 60 only at load. Check your CPU cooler to make sure that it is seated correctly, has thermal paste, is plugged into the mobo for power etc.
Something is fishy with your CPU cooler. i.e. not seated properly, fan wonky, thermal paste improperly applied. Something of that sort.

If you're using the stock cooler, ensure all four locking pins are protruding and locked into place on the backside of the motherboard around the socket.

Manosi, this is not to hurt you. It appears your friend is just a PC building freak and that you may have a little ways to go. I would first suggest making sure all of your case fans are plugged into your motherboard in all of the appropriate slots. I would then check your HS for any dust/debrees. How loud is the system when booting it up? Does the noise change as it heats up?

Thank you all for the replies! I ended up opening the case up and putting a bit more force onto the heat sink locking pins. Two of them were a bit loose, but I managed to tighten them up. In BIOS, I was staying right around 30 Celsius which was a huge change from the previous 60. I was idling in the low 30s, as well. After a couple games of CS GO, it looks like the highest I got up to was 59 Celsius, which was right around what someone said I should be hitting. Seems like the issue is resolved and a lesson has been learned!
