First time builder

Hello all, and thanks up front!

I’m building for the first time with my son and we bought an ASRock AB350 pro4 with an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 which I believe is the summit ridge.

I have the whole machine built and I get 5 beeps on startup with or without the graphics card installed, I have tried to startup without ram and get nothing (I think I should get 3 beeps...) but I am only using one ram stick now. (Do I need two???)

Power and everything else seems to be good, any thoughts on troubleshooting next?

per the mb user guild old bios 1.x was needed to post that cpu. that bios was very old as there up to 4.x bios now. i would check for bent pins under the cpu. try a test power supply if no change rma both the mb and cpu back.
