The PC Master race has finally convinced me. I'm going to build instead of buying prebuilt. I'm going to buy my components first. I'd like to get a second opinion as this is my first time building one. I'm also on a budget. So I'm buying the components I'm able to. I know I want a fairly decent sized case(so I can add more stuff to it if I please) I'm trying to stay under $600
Anyways! Here are my componets I have in my list AS I TYPE THIS.

1. GIGABYTE GA-F2A68HM-H FM2+ AMD A68H SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

2. EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G3, 220-G3-0550-Y1, 80+ GOLD, 550W Fully Modular, EVGA ECO Mode with New HDB Fan

3. AMD Athlon X4 860k with AMD Quiet Cooler Quad-Core Socket FM2+ 95W AD860KXBJASBX Desktop Processor

4. Patriot 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model PSD34G160081

I'm using an AMD quad core because of the price. I know I needed a quad core. Don't really know what over clocking means, but I have a pretty good idea. I don't want super realistic settings, just playing on normal would be a step up. Don't know what coolers I should get. Kinda iffy about liquid cooling. How many coolers do I need and for what? What graphics card should I get? I'm thinking about navida. This is my first time. I haven't even bought my componets yet. I wanna make sure I get all the info I need. Sorry for the long paragraph lol.

if you want to have performance and good price forget about that X4, sorry say this but Fm2+ is VERY old.

this will beat the pants off your X4 any day, the b250 board will permit you to upgrade later without changing anything to a I7-7770 if you so wanted to. (any 6th and 7th gen cpu run on this board.) the M.2 port permits to add a 2280 SSD later for great speeds.
Got a nice 1060 3GB to run most games on High settings, a solid power supply

CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor ($59.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI B250M PRO-VD Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($64.89 @ OutletPC)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT...
That 860k is very slow. A Pentium G4560 is much faster and hyperthreaded. This build will do pretty well. About as fast as you can get for the budget if you include Windows.

You wanted true quadcore, you get true quadcore. Purchase a key later on and activate your Windows... https://www.howtogeek.com/244678/you-dont-need-a-product-key-to-install-and-use-windows-10/

it is possible to combine video cards: IF your mb supports SLI/Crossfire, and IF the video cards support SLI/XF (not all do) and IF your power supply is strong enough. It is usually better to just buy a better video card in the first place, avoids a lot of...complications

Extra RAM: some games will use more RAM, example Gal Civ3 will use more than 8GB on really large maps

you can combine IDENTICAL video card on an SLI capable motherboard yes, but it does not make it 2x ram usage, its makes it 1.5 time (unless SLI board is carried both ports as x16, where most use x16 and x8 or even worst x16 and x4 on sli modes) CPU power, each cpu continue to use their ram it doesn't actually stack, the dual video card split the computation work load, and only if the software/game supports it.

I can agree, this build above would do exemplary for a budget, i have built one a pc for a friend with nearly exact components and hes loving it, coming from xbox one to pc he prefers his pc best.
