Im having a weird problem where i turn of my pc at night, then the next day when i start it up it is fine, but if i play a video game its gonna crash 100% of the time, restarting it does not work, only if i hard reset it.
What could this be

asus gt640 1gb ddr3
4gb ddr3 1333mhz, kingston i think
i3 530
I did i little googling and i found out it could be my ram, my birthday is coming up and im gonna get some new ram and a new psu, christmas im gonna get a new mobo and a new cpu

I would test the RAM first before spending money on it, try a different stick or try a different video card in the system. If it crashes during games it's more likely the video card or power supply than the RAM. The GT640 is a pretty weak video card anyway, if you buy new RAM and that is not the issue you still have a weak video card. Find some spare RAM to test things with and maybe a spare video card.

i have no extra ram or video card, maybe if i use my integrated gpu i could see if that's it
It can also be my psu which i had problems before, that's why im getting a new one
And do you think memtest (or whatever is its name)could tell me if ram is the problem

What issues with the power supply did you have? If you had issues with it, it should have been replaced already, if you run on a failing power supply you can damage other components. If that is a known issue, replace that first before anything else. If crashes continue, replace the video card.

Memtest will show you issues, but although it does a good job, it's not perfect. I have run into cases where RAM passed every test, yet Windows would not run properly until I replaced it.

The psu is juuust enough to power my pc, so i had to lower the gpu frequency a little bit for it to run properly.
im gonna get my new psu and ram soon, and when i get new ram i will also reinstall windows, if this error still happens, im going to get a new graphics card instead of a cpu
