So I'm looking into doing my first water cooling build, and I've done a some research into it and everything but I would like some advice on what I want to do first before I do it.

I plan on watercooling my cpu AMD FX 6350 and 2 GTx 670s and I will overclock both of them. One problem I am having is finding a waterblock for my 670s, I'm using the Zotac 4gb models.http://www.zotacusa.com/geforce-gtx-670-zt-60303-10p.html
If I could, I would like to use a EVGA Hydro Copper block but if not I will use whatever, I just want it to be a full waterblock.

The case I'm looking at buying is the Cooler Master Storm Trooper, and I was going to put a 240 rad at top and mod the case a little to put a 240 rad where the hd bays are and have it on the side so the air that goes through the rad will instantly go out the other side.

Do you think that the 2 240s will be enough?

Solution

I forget the name of the guy that still makes the brackets for them but either way you still need to cool the vrms and memory which needs heatsinks and a fan.

the only thing is hes using two gpus and I haven't seen and cpu waterblocks that have a 90 degree...
hmm id say once overclocking verything youll be looking at 160w + ~225w+225w=660w you need to dissipate

I would honestly do a 360 and a 240 but 2 240s will do it if you don't go crazy on the overclocking.

I run 2 220mms on just my cpu haha but they are only QP rads but have decent FPI.

the only thing I see as a problem is the case, its a nice case but when mounting the top rad I think youll have some airflow issues

Have you looked into 'The Red Mod', which also works on some nVidia cards? It's an alternative fitting of CPU closed loop liquid coolers for GPUs.

This would allow you to simplify and still have great cooling without needing a custom water block.

Otherwise, if you can't find a full coverage waterblock (* usually for reference designs only) you may need to look at generic/universal water blocks for the GPU core with RAM sinks for the RAM and a VRM sink for the GPU VRU.

What do you suggest for a case then? I don't see why I would have airflow issues with the top rad since I planned on using it as a exhaust.

If I can't find a full cover waterblock for them, then I will just wait to watercool my gpus once maxwell comes out, Since i planned on buying into maxwell, I'll get Hydro copper versions of either the 870 or 880. But i'm still going to go ahead and watercool my CPU then.

I almost went that route but my 7970s run pretty cool with a 120mm fan blowing between them

If I can't find a full cover water black for them, I'll just wait to water cool my graphics cards till i buy new ones which i plan on getting hydro copper series of the maxwell gpus when they come out. I'll just water cool my cpu for now and get everything ready to go for when i get new gpus
