Ok so I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 (Not the EVO or the PLUS), this one, that I'm keeping from my old build (LGA 775). I've recently ordered the parts for my new build and I'm getting a FX-6300. I checked the Cooler Master website to know if the cooler could fit the AM3 socket and the socket was listed and that was great. Now when I opened up the case to remove it I noticed the retention plate only had 4 screw holes in a square setting (75mm x 75mm) and no screw holes for AM3. My question is if I could possibly fix my cooler to the AMD stock cooler placeholder using the clip fastener that comes with the stock cooler ?

Any reasoning behind your answer? Would the cooler be loose? What I'm suggesting is kinda like the Hyper T4 fastening model, put the cooler on the cpu and lock it in place with the fastener.
