Question Fix for fatal DirectX error "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" ?

It started to happen randomly I launch any game I enter a level once the level is loaded I get to play for like 2 mins of the level and then I get a random black screen saying the error "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" I tried the following:

• Reinstalling drivers (Didn't work)
• Reverting to a very old driver (Didn't work)
• Downclocking my gpu cores and memory from msi after burner (Seemed to work for a while but the error started to appear again)
• Changing thermal pasta (Didn't work)

My graphics card is GTX 980ti So If anyone knows a solution I would be glad

It works fine in the desktop environment, it just happens when I play games

i would try gpu in another PC

Its not a normal BSOD to get. So it could be the card. So test it out in another PC. If both get same error, its likely card.

The error is indicating that sometime during the game the gpu is no longer detected. It could be a sign that your pcie slot is going bad, your gpu is going bad, or the power to your gpu is being interrupted somehow possibly from a failing psu.

How to know If my PSU is failing or not tho, Is there's a way to know that?
I have EVGA 750W 80 plus bronze

At the repair center before when I had the same error, he used the graphics card on another pc and ran rdr2 on it for a complete day it was working okay

only real tests for PSU are:

multimeter https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-manually-test-a-power-supply-with-a-multimeter-2626158

or in the BIOS to check the +3.3V, +5V, and +12V. - https://www.lifewire.com/power-supply-voltage-tolerances-2624583

Multimeter more accurate. Can check values under load, BIOS can't as such.

you could also use occt to stres test psu under load for about 10 min note all details before and on test using hwinfo .
