Flash Drive Not Working

So, i was creating a bootable flash drive usb flash drive then my laptop started acting weird and i pressed the power button and turned it off. After restart everything was back to normal except my flash drive. It shows up in laptop but thats about it i cant open it, if i refresh everything just vanishes and returns back when i pull it out. I have tried everything nothing helps, basically now my laptop is unusable whenever i plug in the flash drive and returns to normal when i pull it out.

Any help on this like what is happening here or how can i fix my flash drive.

this happen with all usb sticks? or just the one you tried making bootable?
does thedodgy usb work in another computer? or the same thing happens to that computer?

No, only the one i was using to make bootable. I tried the flash drive in other computers as well and it's the same story there too

so basically its the usb stick thats fubar, not the laptop ... dodged a bullet i guess.

i can only summise that the usb stick was part way through being made into a bootable and corrupted its device setting so now it doesnt know what it is. the computers are trying to figure out what the usb drive is when you plug it in, but as it cannot identify itself and the system stalls. TBH ive only had this happen to me once a very long time ago, just binned the usb stick and got another.

Maybe another person can solve this issue for you, but my solution was get another usb stick 🙁 sorry

Thanks man, i guess you're right. I'll just get a new flash drive
