Hey mocace11111. You could try updating the USB drivers to see if that helps you with your issue. If not, you could try this as well:
1. open CMD
2. type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 (Note that nothing seems to happen, but that's OK. This will set an environment variable which is going to help you to see hidden devices.)
3. type devmgmt.msc (this will start the Windows Device Manager Console.)
4. in the Device Manager, from the View menu, select Show Hidden Devices.
5. expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers by clicking the "+"
4. uninstall all of the greyed out devices there
5. restart your computer

Do this with all external HDDs/flash drives disconnected.

After the restart when you connect them again, Windows should "install" them again and if there were any conflicts, this might have resolved the issue.

Hope that helps.

Solution
Nope...
i have changed the letter
device manager it is still grey
it shows no media at diskpart - list disk (in my case disk 1 since disk 0 is my HD)
i cannot format the flash drive with ANY program
i run out of ideas
all the USB ports are fine AND the flash drives are working fine in other devices (Smart tv and stuff)

Hi Leoquanz.

This is a bit weird indeed. What's the OS of your computer? I'm asking because I've heard of recognition issues with externally connected mass storage devices since the Win 10 Anniversary Update.
It sounds like the problem is local (since you're able to properly use the flash drive with a different device), so could you please try it with a different computer and try to reformat it again, either by using Disk Management, or its manufacturer's formatting tool (most SD card and flash drive manufacturers offer such tools for their devices), to see if the same thing happens.
In the meantime you could try updating your chipset driver and the USB controller driver of the computer you're having issues with.

Please let me know how it goes.
