Flat panels and gaming

I've heard lots of different things when it comes to this. How do Flat Panels stack up to gaming. I've also heard that these FPD aren't fast enough for displaying games like Quake.. where you might see multiple frames hence making the game hardly worth playing. If someone could clear this up, I'd appreciate it. I'm planning on buying a Geforce3 with DVI output on it.. so when I get my 18'' IBM FPD I'm already set up.. Thanks again.

I have 2 different types of monitors I play on, a ViewSonic VP181 and 2 SGI 1600sw, they all work great and display everything very well. I cannot say anything about the IBM, I have not used it, but I would make sure that the monitor you buy has a DVI-input, it is much better than an analog in.

Do you need a graphics card to support DVI as well?

Sorry if this seems a stupid question, but I'm not up on DVI stuff.

To connect to a DVI input you need DVI output if you want to stay digital.
