I have a geforce6150 onbord and a HD3850 offbord video card.

- When i enter on windows 7 whith 6150, it works fine.
- When i try to enter on windows 7 whith hd3850 i get a fliker image and a message on my monitor ("frequecy out of range"), and not a sign of the system show´s up.
- On wellcome screen of 7, the image is fine, only when the desktop opens (is suposed to open) the fliker issue begins.

Two possible issues:

-Your PSU is too weak to power the card properly. What power supply do you use?
-Your HD3850 is running too hot. Would it be possible to find out what its temperatures are when you use it?

Make sure you install the ATI drivers. Windows 7 may have recognized the card, but likely muffed the drivers. That's what happened on my HD4670; it worked, but performance was miserable until I installed the Windows 7 Catalyst drivers from the AMDATI web site.
