Question Flickering Monitor issue

Hello,

I am having a random “flickering” issue on my 2nd monitor only on Windows 11.

The issue is not constant- but randomly for 5-10 seconds.

Monitor is:

ASUS ROG Strix 27” 1440P OLED Gaming Monitor (XG27AQDMG) - QHD, Glossy OLED, 240Hz, 0.03ms.​

It is connected to a DP 1.4 cable. I’ve replaced the cable with another and still having same issue. My other monitor is a 4k 120hz monitor with a single DP 1.4 cable as well.

I’ve updated firmware and drivers for the monitor .

I’ve factory reset the monitor.

I’ve checked the refresh rate and it is set to 240hz which is max.

All Windows 11 and other Hardware drivers are up to date.

Possibly any fix for this? My other monitor has no problem. So I’m assuming this is only 2nd monitor related and not a separate hardware issue/compatability problem.

does it happen on the other GPU port as well, where your 1st monitor is connected?

No. 1st monitor has zero flickering issues.

What do you mean with "only on Windows 11"? Did you try it with another OS?

What's your GPU?

Do you have VRR enabled (G-Sync or FreeSync)? If you do, try disable it and see if the problem still happens.

Yes. This is a brand new rig. Although the monitor that is having the flickering issue now did not have this problem on my previous rig- which was running Windows 10.

GPU is Gigabyte Windforce 5080 SSF OC 16GB.

VRR is enabled.
G Sync enabled.

I will try with these settings off and report back.

Yes you should try that.

But I also read that several people are having flickering problems with the 5080. The word seems to be to wait for a driver update that will hopefully fix the problem.

If you have the Nvidia app installed, some people also recommend to uninstall it and see if the problem goes away (with the app still uninstalled).
