Floppy disk malfunction with Word

I was typing a word document that takes several hours to
do. I went to take a break. I saved the file to my
floppy, retrieved my floppy, and left. I actually went to
another computer after my break. I could not open the
file I had been working forever on and had just saved. I
tried two more computers. I can bring up other files on
the floppy, but not the one I had been working on. I have
even tried going back to original computer and looking
there- no luck.
How can I retrieve this information without re-typing it?
Can I somehow fix this floppy (The other files are
accessable)?

Are you sure the file was not being save to a location on the computer?
Look at Recent Documents or search the file name. Sounds like you have
but....
