floppy drive wont read

I'm new at computers and I just finihed building one using an a-bit kg7-raid mobo and a athlon t-bird 1.4. the problem is that i cannot format the hard drive because the system wont read the floppy so i can run fdisk. i've checked the floppy disk, the cable and even changed floppy drives but it's all the same result. can someone help me

Check your BIOS to make sure it is setup to boot to FDD first. If this doesn't correct your prolem, post your problem in the Motherboard/Chipset forum. There is not a lot of traffic down here for a good feedback. However, I think that could be the problem and not your floppy disk drive or cable. Good Luck.
