fm2 vs fm2+

I have read that due to a couple of extra pins you cannot put an fm2+ apu into an fm2 socket, but will things work ok the other way around. I have an FM2 APU and the board I'm looking at has an FM2+ socket. Will this work?

Is the CPU/APU that you intend to use listed on the FM2+ motherboard's CPU support list?

look up the cpu support list by finding the motherboard name and going to manufacturers website
