On my PC-XP harddrive I have an empty folder and when I try to delete it I
get the message:

"Cannot read from the source file or disk"

If i double click on it to view the content it give an error message:
".....refers to a location that is unavailable....:

I have rebooted with no change.

The folder was created by a Creative application for MP3 audio. All the
applications are closed.

How can I delete this unused folder?

thanks

also, run chkdsk /f on the volume to repair any orphaned index entries in
the disk partition table (MFT). You can do this from the Tools tab of the
disk properties. Tell it to repair errors and recover data. It will say it
cant get exclusive access, and schedule the chkdsk for the next reboot.

When you reboot, depending on the size of the disk ... it may take some
time. Be patient and let it finish no matter what. Once that has run, then
try deleteing it from window, or from safemode as suggested by another user.
