I am using already the laptop for a while, but it bothers me from time to time that the font is just too small in some places. Like the title of the apps in the taskbar or some other places. I changed everywhere the font from 9 to 11, but that doesn't cover all the cases.

Scaling is simply ugly, so it's no option.

What do you suggest to do about it?

Go to screen resolution, make text larger, increase DPI to 125 or 150 pixels per inch.

This will make everything bigger, without decreasing screen resolution.

Although if you are not doing something like photo editing where you NEED the resoltion, frankly I found on my Lenovo Yoga Pro that has a 3200x1800 resolution that I prefer it set to 1920x1080 as everything scales and looks better (not to mention better battery life. Yeah the display is not quite as crisp, but you really don't notice on such a small display.

No, I don't like that solution. Sorry :) Why would I get a better display to use it on a lower resolution just because there are some basic settings missing? (even if the diff is small)
Besides, I do have high res photos.

While we're on the subject. I wear glasses and can't see 125 ppi text very well on a 15.3" 1080p screen and my vision is corrected to 20/20. Who ever thought 1440p or 4k was a great idea on tiny displays?

A simple google search: "How to change DPI in Windows X" change X to 7, 8.1, 10, etc. yields good results.

Ok then change the DPI as I first suggested.

I understand your thoughts on the resolution aspect, I would always shake my head at the people who would reduce their resolution on Win XP. After using my Yoga 2 Pro for a while Irealized that the 1920x1080 resolution provided the best overall experience despite the lower resolution and I ultimately put that at the higher value.
If you are working with high resolution photos then yes, you want all the pixels available to you.

I mentioned that I don't wanna do scaling.. it makes stuff look ugly and it makes everything too big. Effect is almost similar as if I would reduce resolution.

I just wanted titles for example to have a bigger font. so I don't want to make EVERYTHING bigger, it just needs to be optimized in a way that texts will be readable (seriously, no one out there thought about that?!)

You should be able to change System font sizes through the tool but you cant just change other programs.
They can easily be coded to use a specific font size(or specific scaling).

Thus if it is not a system font that you can configure, then the only options are to increase DPI or decrease resolution. It is what it is (which is a 13" 1440p screen).

I also work a lot on different servers via RDP. There my settings of my PC are not working. Everything looks extremely small.
This exists for so long and still no solution. Quite disappointing. anyway, nothing else useful to say here, I guess.
