[SOLVED] For a heavy load job, would RDP to a more powerful resources computer do the job?

I have a pen testing exam that I need to perform it on my laptop. However my laptop (Macbook Air with 4gb RAM) does not have much resources for virtualisation. But, I have a desktop computer at home with good resources (16gh RAM).
If I run virtualisation (VirtualBox - Kali) directly on Mac, it crashes as its a memory fulls up so fast. However, I was wondering if I can do RDP or remote access to perform my task remotely on my desktop computer using the Mac.
Would you suggest this and would this perform better?

Penetration testing, would usually require the test software to be on the same network as the target device. A remote computer won't be on that network.
