? All he does is boost his post count. It's like he lives here...

c'mon man. you really think thats all that he does? he's not, say, socially communicating or offering help to people? i mean we've probably got off on a bad foot, you and i, but it doesn't seem like you're being very useful with your posts... kind of hypocritical. but, hey. i'm sorry i got upset. that was just kinda uncalled for. no bones?

Dude, not rly, that's not crossing the line...we dont even know each other in real life, why should Tacos care?
I wouldnt care if that guy said it to me, because being multitalented (and cocky) is cool. I am, and im sure Tacos is, a kid that wants to learn more about how computers work etc. and not a 24 year old guy who screwed up a lot in life, and has one skill (building computers).

yeah man i kinda messed up too. i crossed the line, definately. but things are just so different over the internet, than say a face-to-face conversation. *shrug* sorry.

AND HOW THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS GETTING +4.0s?! do you really get THAT MUCH bonus?! my mind has been boggled. damn. i thought my 4.0 was somethign to be proud of....

9th Grade, that takes me back a bit (makes me feel old). Personally, other than Hockey and a few other events, I pretty much hated my HS (It was a private school that was almost all spoiled little neglected rich kids or kids that were kicked out of other schools. Very few real people in the whole place). Though the education was pretty good. I pretty much could have started college as a sophomore if I had so chose...

Lol, i thought u were in college?
U live a double life? haha

uhm, an A+? 97 or higher.
whihc i WONT be getting in Industrial business tech cause i spend the whole class quake 3-ing or forumzing.

... and majored in grammar? just kidding. i suck at grammar

yeah, i pretty much hate highschool too. for aforementioned reasons. like everyone was buying class rings the other day.... woot  i tried to get my parents to give me $400 NOT to buy a ring, but it wouldn't work...

yeah okay i surrender my intelligence to you all, with your college-in-10th-grade and 9.9 GPAs... haxors.

YEAH, but in my grading scale, A-s don't take you down, still 4.0 (or above for you haxors). man, i don't think my school gives A+s, come to think of it. i had some real high As last semester, and this semester i have a 102 in a class  so i guess i'll find out... but still. i'm real jealous. you guys will totally trounce me in any kind of application process. 8O

HA HA! My dad talked me out of buying a class ring, had me use the money to buy a pistol instead! What can I say, I have great parents.

By the way, I think that so chose is the correct usage there, though it could be chosen. I haven't taken an English class is 7 years...

 hahaha thats so great. ahhaha. i'm laughing so hard right now! that bold was perfect...! and i was just messin' with you about the grammar. i really can't talk, having made a 47 (out of 100, naturally) on a grammar test a few weeks ago... ...lets not talk about it... /  i thought it was laughably bad

lol, and to display how i got an A+ in ~Hubris For Beginners~ i got an 1170 on the SAT's last year in 8th grade.

i couldnt help but say that.

dang, man. i've only taken the psat, but i beat you on that  i don't remember what i got tho.... man, all these prodigious forum-inhabitants that are YOUNGER than me  curses.

I couldn't help but say that.
HA HA! e-pissing contest...

I'm actually the only person I've ever heard of that threw away a perfect score in the math section (I took the test, KNEW every answer but one. If I had skipped it, BAM! 800. Instead, I guessed and missed it... 780 instead). Ended up with 1520 combined.

For what its worth, first time I took the test in SAT prep (10th grade a think) I got a 1210 I think. Of course, this was back when there were only two sections to the test. So you are definitely on the right track.

Then again, SATs were/are more about your ability to take tests than they are about actual intelligence.

DISCLAIMERI'm really not trying to brag. I know I am an arrogant, egotistical ass sometimes when it comes to my intelligence, but I try not to bring it up all that often or brag about it.

nah man i'm just sheer impressed right there 😀 i don't even care... i don't think you're bragging, anyway. thats awesome. so you really COULD HAVE made it in college in 10th grade... i should work harder then. damn... i'm going to cry myself to sleep.

In 11th grade?

that pwns ninja...what college are u at again? like MIT or something?

what kinda req's, did u need 3 years of a language to get accepted?

and, should i get as many math and science courses as possible?

NO NO u guys are gettin git wrong.

i subtracted that gay writing part to get the original 2 section score.

they are gettin rid of it anyway. 😉

with it, i got like an 1800, wait no mabye 1700, ehh idk

if i would take a reg SAT from 2 years ago, i would get an 1170

in 7th grade i got a 1070.

good night everyone, i have track tom, i MIGHT start for the 800m w00t

Not quite, what I meant is that I had 21 college credits already after graduating HS, and could have done college in three years instead of 4. Though I did start taking course for college credit in 11th grade (math, programming, and history I think). I just decided to retake a couple of courses in college (complete waste of time education wise, though thats were I met my wife, so it worked out all good).

Why do I feel like the oldest one here?

Reqs differ from state to state, but its 4 years of a foreign language, and demonstration of both academic excellence and extracurricular activities. Good SAT scores don't hurt either, but those are mainly for scholarships.

For what its worth to those of you looking at colleges, I got wait-listed at Carnegie Mellon (though I think that had a lot to do with a certain incident involving a suspension in HS, and the fact that I was applying for financial aid as a middle-class white male. More the suspension.) I ended up at PSU which has a pretty good computer science and engineering school. They have one of the top women in computer engineering as a professor. She specializes in lowering power consumption usage in processors and did a lot of work with Intel. She probably was at least a consultant for Pentium M and Conroe.

I decided I was sick of school and eschewed the whole Graduate School thing. Plus, someones got to earn the money. My wife's a PHD student at the moment. I may go back for one or more Grad degrees (Comp Sci or Comp Eng and possibly an MBA) eventually.

Absolutely. If you want to teach, thats the way to go. I was planning on going on further up until my last semester. I was even in our honors program that basically allowed you to write your own ticket to grad school. I just decided that since I wanted to either:
A) be my own bossB)Work as a consultantThat grad school wasn't the way to go at the time.

I think you would be a great teacher, you have tought me so much in the time I've been here, you should pursue that, besides, you'd be the coolest teacher ever if you took the evo to school 😀
Thanks. But I think it would be more professional to take the S60R to school...

@hergieburbur
They told me to spend about three years in the field so I can get the hard experience and when I come back, they'll have a job for me. :)

That sounds about right. Most of the teachers I've had that never worked "in the field" were missing something...

Plus, if you do it right, you can always consult on the side while teaching. Thats where the money's at.

In completely unrelated news, it looks like there is finally a deal in place to keep my beloved Pens in Pittsburgh! I've been waiting 7 years for this news, and hopefully it doesn't turn out to be more false hope.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Plus, this is about as far off topic as I though I could get. (whatever the topic here really is).
