Yes. Phila International looked beautiful. The piers were redone. There
were signs on the doors, chairs visible through the windows, and the
lighting was very good and realistic.
I was disappointed I couldn't keep this program installed. I think it
simply conflicts somehow with the programming for the Spitfire. I did
notice that when loading it into the textures folder, I had to overwrite
many files. I had simply backed up the entire texture folder on the
desktop, and when I deleted the revised texture folder and replaced it
with the original, the stuttering stopped and everything was normal
again.
One personal note. I actually didn't like the revised hard surface ramp
textures. They were way too light, and in an effort of make the cracks
more realistic, I think he went a bit overboard.
Keep in mind, there are simply my personal observations. Your opinion
might differ of course.
As for the computer config and FS9, I don't have my HD's partitioned. I
just went out and bought the most expensive and fastest computer I could
find and loaded the simulator into it. Basically, it runs fine. I could
probably tweak it and make it better, but don't have all that much time
to fool with it. I keep it fairly clean for testing new flight models
for developers, so third party software like the airport enhancements is
either a straight forward go in no problem thing or I take it out
immediately. In this case, it was causing an issue that was a no go for
me.
The defrag program seems like a must. There seems to be some talk that
another defrag program out there is the best for XP from Raxco called
Perfect Disk. I'm looking at that one as well.
