For some reason i just can't overclock

Hey, everytime i try to overclock, my PC just wont boot up, even if it does it resets all settings randomly, am i doing something wrong or whats the deal?
SPECS:
Intel Dual Core E8400 @ ~3.00GHz
AMD Sapphire HD 7750 1gb
4gb ram ddr2
Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO cooler.
ECS IC41T-A Motherboard.
