Format Hdd if stuttering during gaming?

Guys I'm having a bit of a nightmare..

Some games are fine, it use to run all games fine but now some are not as great.

But some just stutter, I've taken the same game and put it on my ssd and it's fine. At first I thought it was my gpu which is a gtx 1060 6gb, but no its definitely the hard drive.

Would the issue subside if I format it? Or do I rma it again and get another cheers guys

It would be nice to back up the data stored on the drive, until you sort this out.

Depending on the results, we will see if a reformat would help.

OK I have both those programs and I don't see anything abnormal, shall I post some screens?

Yeah. Just upload the SMART report ot an image hosting website and post the link.
Which port is the HDD attached to? You can attach it with different SATA and power cables to a different SATA port, that is perhaps, on another controller.

Have you tried to attach the drive to another port with different cables? You can use the cables and port one of the other drives is attached to.

In case the issue persists and if the drive is under warranty, you can contact the manufacturer support. It will not hurt to reformat as well.

have you tried to properly defrag your HDD ? some gams are whores when it comes to data shuffling.
