Formating Questions And Help

So I have the windows 10 technical preview and I want to go back to windows 8.1.
My question is that if I go to my system and do a format to ''factory settings'' will it actully go back to windows 8.1 or stay on windows 10?

"Factory settings" means whatever the system came with from the store. If that was Windows 8.1, that's what you will have.
And whatever is on the drive will be gone.
