The roof is a great structure and it provides cover from a lot of different things. The best thing about it is that you can completely change its look and manipulate it according to your need. There are four variants of a roof that you can create by going to the edit mode. To know all about them and how to create them, refer to the guide below:
Basic Roof:
This is the most basic structure and does not require any kind of editing. To create it, you just need to select roof structure and place it down, that’s it. It is mostly used in covering the top of the bases so that an enemy cannot throw a grenade directly into your base.
Outwards Kite:
It is an amazing structure and besides its big size, it is not much harder to create. It will provide cover from behind, right side, left side and above, therefore it is a great structure to build. The outwards kite can be created by first selecting the roof and then placing it. Now edit the roof by pressing the edit button “G”. Once you have the edit menu, deselect the section on the top right corner and place it. You will have the outwards kite section.
Plain Inclined Roof:
A great structure to have and it is pretty easy to create it as well. The plain inclined roof will provide you cover from only behind but it can be used to get to a height so in short, it provides a height advantage rather than a cover. To create this structure, you need first to select the roof structure and then place it. Now enter in the edit menu and deselect the line of sections on the right. Now place it and you will have the plain inclined roof.
Two-Sided Roof:
A good structure to have and is easy to create it as well. The structure does not provide any kind of cover but it can be used in combination with other structures to create a different structure like different forts. To create it, you will first have to select roof as your structure and then place it. Now go into the edit mode and then deselect the left and right corners. Now place the structure and you will have a two-sided roof.
Inwards Kite:
The inwards kite structure is actually a great structure to have and it only takes seconds to create it. Although it does not provide any cover when used alone, it is used in the creation of the funnel and it provides great cover in that structure. To create the inwards kite, you need to first select the roof as your structure and then place it. Now go into the edit mode and deselect three sections besides the one on the top right corner. Now place it and you will have the inwards kite structure.
These are all the types of structures that you can create with a roof. Remember that you can always rotate a structure according to your position with the use of “R” key.
