Question Forza Horizon 5 ; XBOX PC App Vs Steam

Interested to know if anyone ever try both and notice differences between the two,
really want to hear opinions from Forza Horizon 5 players on STEAM.

I have been playing FH4 on XBOX console for a while and getting into FH5 on PC. (As I don't do console no more)

However, as some of you may notice too, XBOX pc app is so buggy, glitchy, and kind of unstable. Even online, many people reported issues, from failing to install, to failing to launch.

Me myself, encountered some unique craps too, that I supposed, coming from the app being so full of bugs or whatever.

My issues are;

1. When launching game, the intro of this game until I got into options to get into the game, the phase before getting there, are so pixelated, like it was on 720p resolution or some sort, but it is not a big deal, because it's just the intro. Anyone else experience this on XBOX APP for PC? is it any different launching this from Steam? I expect Steam is a lot smoother.

2. If I open my Adrenaline's overlay before launching to get some hardware information, apparently the game will not load, and my fps will read as 1600+ fps, and I can get into the option to launch or to quit, and I have to quit, because it won't load if I continue will just stuck at loading.

Based on the second issue, I avoid opening my adrenaline's overlay, but then, if I open it inside the game, the FPS tend to show either NA, or ZERO, I know this game has in game FPS option, but I wanted thigs to work properly and I am curious, if XBOX app is really this bad and I should just buy this game from STEAM?

I am sure this is either the XBOX app or the FH on XBOX APP, because I played MOTOGP 22, NO ISSUE, yes, from XBOX app too, I play Flight Simulator, No issue too for 3 weeks, only encounter stuck at loading screen once, and for that I am not sure why, but once.

With this FH5 on XBOX app, I could always seek for what's wrong with the game / app, and will find new "wrong" things LOL.

For example, before getting into the game, if I choose to go to settings, my controller "RIGHT BUTTON" don't work, it works inside the game, once getting into the game. Or, if going to setting before starting the game, you know, the menu before "continue", my monitor sometimes read as something else instead of 144hz monitor, sometimes 120, sometimes 90hz, could be anything. Inside the game, everything works just fine apart from my adrenaline messed up not working properly (the overlay)

and I am half of sure to just get it on Steam based on my research online, too many issue from this XBOX crap that cost a fortune (120 dollars a year in Australia).

if you get it from microsoft store, you can also play it on console for no additional cost
if you get it from steam, then to play it also on console, you will need to have xbox game pass

both microsoft or steam version are NOT using xbox app to launch it
you can uninstall xbox app if its causing you issues and game will still run just fine

i myself hadnt any issues with fh5
for msi afterburner issue, open rtss settings and change detection level to low

Thanks for the reply, edited my initial post to make it clear, I don't do XBOX anymore, sold mine before Series X launch, and get PC instead of Series X lol.

However, I have been encountering weird stuffs from this xbox for pc app.

As simple as, all games that I installed, cannot be launch immediately. Either I need to restart the whole xbox process in the background and windows, or just restart the PC. Not just that problem I enquired above, I paid this app for 2 months now, and I don't like these issues if I end up locking up for a couple years. May as well grab one on STEAM, but I am giving it a few more days until I hear someone confirming it's different on Steam. 😀

First, I will try your advice to UNINSTALL XBOX APP. Because this app is literal trash no lie, so glitchy, feels so heavy, even for a recent system.

Question, you don't have xbox app running for xbox for pc games? i am so noob I will surely follow this step and see how it goes for a day or two lol

Also, I don't use Afterburner, but Adrenaline, I like the overlay bit more, and it never gives me issue apart for this Forza thing, (only is overlay is ON). I used Afterburner 2-3 months ago, for a couple days, and I figured I like Adrenaline better, and I haven't tried RivaTuner at all

there is just xbox live auth service running, but this one doesnt launches games either, its just user login to xbox live, game can launch without it, you can get to main menu, but if this service isnt running (stopped/broken) then it will throw unknown error when entering world from main menu
games can be downloaded from microsoft store directly, gamepass is shown there
game itself launches through GamingServicesUI.exe which is micosoft store UWP app
try repairing that app
open powershell with admin rights and type this to uninstall it:
get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage –allusers

then type this to reinstall that app from ms store
start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

no reboot needed

Yepp I am 90% certain it’s this app here called game seevice UI or xbox something that was once repaired and fixed everything, I did it from setting repair and restart, and now as you mentioned it, had it made you need to uninstall or repair the installation? Because I see everyone online get to do this at one point playing Microsoft game from ‘microsoft’ app.

This is the intention of my enquiry, thanks man. I hate spending money on things that constantly need to get fixed
