At this rate, these workers will price themselves out of a job soon. Eventually the production line will move to inland China, India, Vietnam, or another developing nation. Then these guys will have no jobs. Let's see how that works.

Yeah, it happened in the US, it will happen there also.

Wait... I make 150 usd / week. Somehow, when this series of articles began, i was under the impression that these people made 130 usd / month.

If i think about it, over 50% of my countrys working force makes under 150 usd / week. The plus side is we only work 8 hours, 5 days / week in more than decent working conditions, and, most of us manage to suppliment this by other means, usually second jobs. Still, the avarege salary in my country sucks ass.

I am really getting sick of people saying they don't support or won't buy Foxconn anymore. It really doesn't make much sense considering if you look at the I/O part of your motherboard. Almost all say Foxconn in various places... Foxconn makes a tad bit more products then we think they do.

[citation][nom]__-_-_-__[/nom]damage control.[/citation]
Dont point that finger as us 20 and 30 somethings. We didnt create this mess. It was the generations before us that bought cheap chinese and japanese crap and put their own country men out of work. This can be said about alot of Americas problems. Trace much of this crap back to the freaking hippies and baby boomers.

66 percent increase is probably reserved to those who praise working conditions at Foxconn and rattle on those who talk to media.

[citation][nom]Article[/nom]could boost wages by up to 66 percent to 2,000 yuan per month ($293 USD)[/citation]

So those who get the 66% bonus actually get a pay every month equal to 2,2 weeks of last years wager?
Doesn't sound like a bonus to me!

[citation][nom]Article[/nom]Prior to the raise, workers were earning 900 yuan ($132 USD) a week.[/citation]

Marcus, is it week or month? or am I correct?

Seriously. If I made 132/week, and my new salary was 293/month, I would say "no thanks." That's called a pay cut Einstein.

Let's be honest these raises are do to the bad press Foxconn has been getting recently and they hope these raises will be a giant PR boost.

Also notice the giant pay increase % now if Foxconn could easily hand out such a sizeable raise then why did it take so long and why did it have to be after all of this bad press? This is like Foxconn saying to its employees "We aren't kicking you in the groin anymore..... as much..." Are the employees suppose to be thankful?

I also bet we will not see any major price hikes in Foxconn products because we the consumer were not saving anything in the first place. Today employee wages hardly influence prices for the consumer instead they are still overpriced and more profits go to the executives, CEO's, and major share holders. That's how it really works but they simply lie to the consumers and tell them they get great deals do to cheap labor. We can accept the lies or lie to ourselves all we want but Capitalism isn't the best system we have instead its the most corrupted and most sinister system that hides behind a smile and nice sounding slogans.

Is this how we want to be remembered by future generations the generation that only lived to capitalize for ourselves while willfully and enjoyingly cause other humans to suffer in the name of the almighty $? While arrogantly the majority who support capitalism are also the bottom of the barrel just hoping they someday become wealthy.
