Hello everyone,

I´m experiencing very random freezes / FPS drops in only some hardware demanding games like EFT & Ark Survival Ascended.
For quite some time (at least one year) I was thinking that this has nothing to do with my hardware, but since I did some hardware monitoring first with Windows Task Manager and now with MSI Afterburner I realized that my hardware must be the issue due to the GPU drops that occur with the FPS drops.

During the last year I did many driver updates & and was playing around with different ingame settings which didn´t change this from happening in any way.

I´m not a pro in reading these graphs, but for someone like you guys in here I think the issue should be obvious by looking at the graph I screenshotted for you. I provoked 5 fps drops and marked them with a red dot under the GPU usage drops.

MSI Afterbruner Graph

My hardware specs are:
PSU: 700W
Mainboard: H310M PRO-M2 (MS-7B28) / v2.0
Processor: Intel Core i7-8086K
RAM: 32 GB (2x16 GB Crucial DDR4 3200 MHz CL22)
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (12288 MB GDDR6)
HDD: SSD (500 GB - Games are installed there)

Thank you guys already in advance for your support.

PSU: make, model, wattage (700 watts noted), age, condition (original to build, new, used, refurbished)?

Disk drives: make, model, capacity, how full?

= = = =

Overall, the graphs suggest to me that the PSU is a likely culprit.

You may be able to learn more:

Look in Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for error codes, warnings, and even informational events just before or at the time of the freezes.

Reliability History/Monitor is end user friendly. The timeline format may reveal patterns.

Event Viewer requires more time and effort to navigate and understand.

How To - How to use Windows 10 Event Viewer | Tom's Hardware Forum (tomshardware.com)

Both tools allow clicking on errors etc. to obtain more detailed information. The details may or may not be helpful.
