My laptop have fps drop/massive lag when encountering other players in ANY online game... happened first at LOL but is now happening with overwatch, runescape and gw2. When Im alone runs normal, and with offline games like Resindent Evil 7 its smooth too. Already tested GPU with both FurMark and Heaven Benchmark, seemed fine. Tried to update gpu, windows and network card(device manager) and nothing worked... Please help me!!!!!
Specs:
- Intel i7 5500U 2.40Ghz
- Nvidia Geforce 920M
-8Gb RAM
- Windows 10 x64

UPDATE : Speed Test WITHOUT Ethernet cable(Wi-FI) :

Ping- 12ms
Download - 46.06mbps
Upload - 10.32mbps

UPDATE 2 :

So I used a website called UserBenchmark to test all components and got this result:

UserBenchmarks: Game 15%, Desk 42%, Work 24%
CPU: Intel Core i7-5500U - 51.2%
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 920M - 7.1%
HDD: Seagate Momentus 2.5" 1TB - 48.1%
RAM: Hynix HMT451S6BFR8A-PB Samsung M471B5173EB0-YK0 8GB - 55.3%
MBD: Asus X555LJ

For some reason the website is saying in short terms that my GPU sucks xD

UPDATE 3 :
Ok now I tested the CPU, GPU and RAM with an Intel stress test ( Intel Extreme Tuning Utility ) and got this results:

CPU :
Passed. ( Temps average: 79Cº - 91Cº )

Memory:
Passed.

GPU:
Passed.

UPDATE 4:

So I cleaned the laptop and it keeps doing the same... Ideas???

Playing online is always quite more CPU intensive. Most laptops will drop their performance when the systems goes hot. Right click on your battery icon and ispect your power and management options. There should be an option for high performance along with the recommended and one for power effeciency. If you have already done that check your temperatures while gaming online. The cpu will throttle when going hot, to prevent itself from overheating. If you didn;t have this problem before, maybe you should clean your laptop.

Ensure that your drivers are up to date usually via Geforce Experience. Ensure that your ISP is confirming that there are no issues on there end, and if there isn't than I'd check your hardware. Since you stated that you've tried updating your drivers, I'd say reinstall your games. I know that Runescape usually is 'installed' and using there jagex cache on the local drive which can be deleted and than when booting up the game it will reinstall.

I wouldn't say this is a real computer issue, it seems to be hardware related or ISP. Try to plug in a Ethernet Cable and than test it out. See if it's not a complete router issue. Process of elimination.

I will come up with more solutions, but at this moment I can't think of anymore.

I Will check that as soon as I get home, it might be the reason because this lag started in about 1month, before that was fine! Thanks in advance!!!

I use Geforce Experience and it's up to date, and I already tried to connect the Ethernet cable and still do the same. And Overwatch,Runescape and GW2 were Installed after the problem started. Sorry the ignorance but what is the ISP?

Ohhh Ok! So I tested it connected via Ethernet cable with Slow Pri speed test and got this results:

Ping - 0ms
Download - 124.94mbps
Upload - 10.46mbps

Thanks I tested with the cable connected and got these results:

Ping - 0ms
Download - 124.94mbps
Upload - 10.46mbps

So, I checked the battery and it's set to Best Perfomance should I change it?

Keep it at Best Performance don't change it.

Ok I will keep it!

Your GPU does kinda suck. Sorry to say. Only way to get better performance is to get a better PC.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from DarkUnlimit : "FPS Drop/Massive Lag when encounter Enemies!!!!"

Yeah but before these 2months all online games ran smooth without problems, now I tried to change settings to Low and not even with those settings I'm able to play because everytime a player gets near me, it lags specially in team battles...

Has this been resolved? I have a Y510P, with the same issue. All drivers are up to date. Internet up/down times are not an issue. As the OP posted this issue came on gradually, got worse with time, now all games are unplayable when another person is present.

This same computer ran these same games at 80+ FPS for a year before.

When no other player is present, the game is smooth as butter. When another player is present the game drops to 5-10 FPS. This has been confirmed by many hours of testing. My game will lag merely by my character being in the proximity of another online character. It is normal for me to be completely unaware of a players presence, run into an area, being to lag or FPS drops just by being in the proximity of another person before I able to see them.

Help?
