I have a GTX 970 and gtx 650 in the same system , i use the 650 for physX. Both run on Corsair CX 600 PSU. Intel I5 4690K no overclock. 8GB ddr3 HyperX fury ram.

I have been expieriencing Frame drops today in the Witcher 3 and Rocket league. In both games I get 60 FPS but from today i started getting 10/15 in W3 and 40/30 in Rocket league.

Any diagnosis ? Thanks.
The 970 is slightly overclocked but no voltage tweaks just Core clock and mem clock.

Solution

start monitoring cpu/gpu temps while gaming

usually it is thermal throttling when you start maxing in the 10 fps range

that or the CX is starting to go, those power supplies are well known for dying early

Thanks for the help. I think you're right about the PSU dying early. I heard something about low quality capacitors. But anyway thanks for the help.
