[SOLVED] fps drops after gpu upgrade, how to fix?

I Just upgraded my psu to a 650 watt corsair and my gpu from a 1050ti to a rx vega 56. I installed the drivers and launched destiny 2 but realised my fps dropped from an average of 60 - 70 to 40 -50. I have a ryzen 3 1200 and i was aware there would be a bottleneck but didnt think my framerate would be so bad. I am thinking of upgrading to a ryzen 7 2700x but am awaiting responses to see if this would actually fix the issue. Also every time I load in, my game freezes after about 3 seconds, and i have to alt tab out and back in again for it to unfreeze but it only stays unfrozen for a few seconds before it happens again which is very strange. My GPU on radeon sowtware is just shown as radeon rx vega. is this normal? Thanks.

used vega 56? check cpu/gpu temp?

Going from NVidia to AMD can cause a mess of drivers. Use DDU to completely remove all gpu drivers and then reinstall the AMD driver.
