Hello Guys, I have fps drops when playing a game called CS:GO.
I noticed that fps drops from 300 to 50, 60 or sometimes to 100 for like 3 seconds and goes back to 300 and it keeps happening every 14-16 seconds.
I think it started happening after I upgraded to Windows 10.
Or it might be that I downloaded a EVGA Precision and opened it and changed some things but I didnt save it, I deleted it because had no idea how to use that programm.
My Resolution: 1980 x 1080
I tried everything, cleaned my PC from Virus, updated all drivers, checked temperature, checked PC for viruses, I even changed my OS to Windows 8 but it didnt help and then I went to Windows 7 and it didnt solve the problem too. Right now I am on Windows 7. Also my Vsync is off.

My PC SPECS:

GPU: NVIDIA GTX 980
CPU: AMD FX-9590 4.70 GHz (5.0GHz Turbo)
RAM: 16 GB (8?2)
MOTHER BOARD: GIGABYTE 990FXA-UD3 AMD 990 ATX
POWER SUPPLY: 800 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready
SYSTEM: Windows 7 (x64)

I tried everything but nothing helped =(

Is there any program that can check my PC if any of part of it is damaged?
I will give more information about PC if needed.

go to the launch options of the game and put in the commands,+mat_queue_mode 2 -high make sure you add spaces in between these commands!

Did what you said, testing right now

it didnt help bro, btw when I bought my PC (1 year ago) it used to freeze during a game, screen was on and it wasnt reacting on mouse or keyboard or anything, the only way how to fix it was to reboot, I wrote a message to a support of creators of my pc which is CyberPowerPc and they told sent me a fix:
They sent me this:

Go to: MIT > Advanced Frequency Settings > Advanced CPU Core Features

Change the following settings:

Core Boost > Disabled
Cool & Quiet > Disabled
C1E Support > Disabled
SVM > Disabled
Core C6 State > Disabled
APM > Disabled

Test other games just to see if it's CSGO only doing it.

At this point i'd look at trying another power supply if you can, maybe borrow from a friend - or try your GPU in a friends computer or vise versa.

Power supplies (Degrading or quality related) can be a culprit not providing enough power to the card causing fps dips and also the card itself as suggested above.

If CSGO isn't the issue and Operating System (Software related) I'd probably look into those two parts, PSU and GPU.

I will check my fps on other games too, idk about checking my gpu on friends pc because idk how to open it and also I am scared because I might damage it. About power supply idk, I dont have any friends who have a good pc as me, their PCs blow.
I will check my fps on a Pay Day 2 game.

When I updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 it started. Before it was good.
but I changed my OS and fps is still dropping.
what it might be?

Yea check other games, hopefully it's just CSGO and can probably suss out a command or something to improve performance. But also PC hardware can start to fail at anytime so you can fiddle with software until you're blue in the face but if there is something wrong on a hardware level it's going to be v.hard to diagnose properly without some help from someone else with parts. Might need to take it to a repair shop.

Simply upgrading to Win10 shouldn't have caused an affect. Albeit Nvidia driver's have been known to cause indefinite problems though, so maybe it was an Nvidia driver that's cause some damage? Unlikely, but it has happened before.

You can try an older driver possibly, the latest is giving you grief. In future if you update Geforce drivers frequently, best to take a gander at Geforce.com driver reviews before committing. And if you rememver your driver version you used when you started noticing this problem, check there at Geforce forums as well relating to that driver version.

Chrome is a bit of a cpu hog so thats normal.

If your hdd was the problem you will have freeze spikes.

Also if your computer is applying updates automatically for Windows and other software it can also shoot the hdd usage up. Since it's a fresh Windows install i assume you have no viruses and your HDD is not full. But check those again anyway.

Last time I updated my driver was on May 23 (2016) and I think it might be because of driver too.
Btw the release of my driver was on the same date when I installed it. I used Invidia experience to update it.
