I have a problem where ill be playing games like battlefield one or Rainbow 6

Ill start off on high at 60 with v-sync.

specs:

MB: msi 970 gaming and
PSu: sentry 750w
gpu: msi 970 twin frozer
cpu: amd 8350 8 core procssor
Ram: 24gb

Whenever I start playing my temps are around 75c for gpu, however when I began to get lag. My gpu temps are around 97-98c (203f)

My cpu idle temps are around 60c and when it gets laggy it goes around 80-85c.

I don't know if thats the issue, please help.

Solution
Yes, the could very well be the issue. The average temperature for the 970 is 77°C, so your going way over recommended temps. I would recommend going into Nvidia settings and manually increasing fan speed until you can sustain a nice temperature.

follow what jwplaster just said and also your cpu is way too hot ....it should be below 50 c when idle....maybe you have bumped the cooler while putting your gpu...try placing the cooler proplerly...
