Hi all!
I have noticed that my fps dips very often for no reason. I run my games at 60fps (with vSync ON) when it suddenly dips down to 50 or sometimes 40 and stays on that fps until i walk away from that area. It can happen when i just walking into a specific spot on the map for example.

Then there is the problem with stutter. Just like the lag this happens everytime i play a game, does not matter if multiplayer or singleplayer. The game plays perfectly fine at 60fps and then something happens and it stutters for a second and then goes back to 60.

My specs:
Intel core i5 4670K
Gigabyte GTX 1060 3GB
Corsair Vengeance 8GB 2133Mhz
2 SSD, 1 for windows and 2nd for everything else

My Temps are very good, both the CPU and GPU stays at around 50 C.

I really need help to fix this because it is starting to ruin my gaming experience.

I appreciate all the help i can get
Thank you :)

The FPS drops are most likely caused because some areas of the map require more loading for example if there are a lot of players in one position, it may cause FPS drops. Try turning down your graphics settings and see if that solves the problem.

If that doesn't work, here are some things you should try:
- Go to the NVIDEA website and download the driver for your GPU
- Try turning Vsync off, it may be the cause of your lag.
- If you already have drivers for your GPU, try updating them (if available)
- If all else fails, try reinstalling your drivers. (Go to Control Panel>Uninstall an application>Then scroll down and find NVIDEA 3d graphics driver and uninstall it and afterwards, restart computer and install drivers from the NVIDEA website again.

Wrong about loading the map, unless it's multiplayer and then it's the server/Internet speed. He is running 2 SSDs, the speed of loading maps and stuff, is super fast.

What's your PSU spec and name? What games do you play? Do your SSD have any bad sectors? Check them for errors.

Thank you for the answer!
I did try turn off the Vsync and it did fix the first of the problems (it feels like it anyways). But i still get those stutters, now with Vsync off i get around 90fps but it still stutters from time to time.

I did also try your other solutions without any success.

Thanks for answering, The psu is 550W (pretty sure its a cooler master). I mostly play Battlefield 1, Witcher 3 and GTA V. How should i check my SSD for errors?

I did the scan and it did not find any errors. When i play BF1 it takes up 6.5GB RAM, GTA and Witcher takes a bit less. Resource monitor says i have 1.5 GB left when i play BF1. Well i dont think so, i mean: Windows has to take some RAM too??
Drivers, directX, windows update, game updates are on the latest versions. Well i have had the system for a few years now (RAM, CPU, MB, PSU, 1SSD) but the 2nd SSD i pretty new and my 1060 is pretty new aswell.

If only the game takes 6.5 itself then yes, you're likely using more than 8 GB overall. I have 16 GB and still have issues (at 4k tho) but having your paging file number increased might help a little. Or you can look online how to use your SSD as RAM and you can reserve a small portion for that specific task, with a good SSD you might not even see the issue when reading/writing from it instead of your RAM.

And do your fps drop even in Witcher 3? Or mostly on online games?

Do you think the stuttering is caused by low RAM?

I have checked about using SSD as RAM but it was not recommended because of the wear and tear it does to the SSD (by writing and deleting all the time).

I had the same problem with witcher 3 but it seems better now when i removed Vsync. I would say that it mostly happens on online games but its not rare to find it on offline games.

It's very likely, since everything else seems to be okay. You could try downgrading your graphics, stop some processes, see if your stuttering only starts when your total RAM gets up to 100%

Sorry but i have been away for a few days. I just checked GTA V and it also goes up to 6,2 GB but i rarely notice stutter there. Something is not right here? I also did check the task manager and it gets to like 80% memory, so its not full either.

Thank you, that worked very well. The stutter was almost gone and the gameplay was much smoother (i was so happy).

But, there is one problem. I did some research and found that if you disable CFG you are putting the PC at huge risk. Sure it fixes the stutter but it downgrades the security of the PC.
