Recently started Tarkov (not light i know) and getting very low FPS, even tho on a 'high fps' config. I've also struggled a LOT on light games, for example when i played Paladins and TF2 i was getting constant FPS drops to the 60-70 FPS region when engaging in fights. I built this expensive ass PC back in the day to not have to think about this <expletive removed>, but ive had to download configs and mess around with settings in like 99% of my games and it still always 'hurts my eyes' ruining my performance and taking the fun out of gaming.

Been having this problem with most games since i built this PC (3yrs) and finally decided to write about it. My friends run pretty much all the games we play much better, with worse setups.

Dont really know what could be the cause so its hard to form this post. What can i do to try and see if this <expletive removed> is even running like its supposed to ? Probably should have asked this years ago..

RTX 2080 Super
i5 8600K
16GB RAM
1TB SSD
1440p 165hz monitor with G-Sync

Temps seem normal too .. 70-75 under heavy load, rarely peaking at 80. Been keeping GPU drivers up to date, not sure about the other parts since i dont have a specific app for them.

Solution
the 6 cores/6 threads only of the 8600K were /are not particularly known as the apex/zenith of maintaining high FPS for all games...particularly if there are any other potentially resource-hogging processes running in the background, and, even that assumes of course everything else (drivers, OS, clock speeds/temps) is running fine. (Many will sometimes assume their rigs are the problem for sluggish FPS updates when it's actually an online server or servers at fault, be it too many players in heavy fighting sequences, bandwidth, etc..)

Trying to maintain 144 fps minimums often results in visible hitches /stutters for some sytems dropping sync when frame rates drop below that, exacerbating any seeming slowness...
What resolution are you running? What speed is your RAM? The 2080S is roughly a 3060 ti. Tarkov is a very CPU intensive game because it is poorly optimized. On some maps like Reserve and Lighthouse I get 40-70 FPS with a 3900x and a 3080 at 1440p. Tarkov Requires very specific settings to get decent FPS and even then on certain maps its not good. Turn off G-Sync and any FPS limits and run this benchmark and post the resulting link here. What version of Nvidia drivers are you on? When was the last time you clean installed your Nvidia drivers with DDU if at all?
