I've been having fps lag or drop in every game i play
these are my specs

amd fx 9370 with water cooler running at 4.5 mhz
asrock fatal1ty 990fx killer
evga 600 psu

when i start bf4 it starts at 150-115 fps then when i get in the field it goes to 20-90 fps it goes up and down every 30 seconds

Solution

Monitor temps.

Also you need bios P1.10 or higher.

Yikes, that's not good. The VRAM consumption is but the fact that your frame dipping like that...

I think it'd be best if you started to tweak some settings. You know the game looks amazing as it is. Try to see if an in game setting is causing the issue. That is the only thing I can recommend.

Uh oh, that's bad. Have you considered running the game using Mantle, it boosts performance a LOT. If you already do, then I don't know what to tell you. Here is a thread where somebody had your problems and apparently updating his drivers fixed it.

Wait, what are your RAM speed timings? Have you enabled XMP in your BIOS. If not do that now, the second thread said that it solved his issue.

Speaking of, have you considered switching through drivers? The latest driver have a positive effect on one game and a negative on another.

Ok, keep looking because XMP should be there. Look up your specific motherboard UEFI and search for where the XMP setting is.

And you haven't used Mantle. In my mind, Mantle is a MUST for BF4, it improves performance and stability so much that it may just cure your problems. How about this, launch MSI Afterburner and BF4 and start playing. Play for about 4-5 minutes and then check your GPU usage. If your GPU usage is dipping a lot then that may be the issue. Enable Mantle an try again. I don't think GPU usage gets better (More than likely does) but you will notice a huge boost of performance and stability which is just what your need.

Hm. Ok, what's your specific motherboard? Maybe I can figure it out, worth a try.

Ok, I don't know why it would switch back to DX11, but did Mantle help at all?

In your Motherboard, look for the option that says Extreme Memory Profile. That is what XMP is. Trust me, it's there, you just may have to look a bit more harder.

And I'm surprised Mantle didn't help! Most people report that it boosts performance anywhere from 50-80%. Something is obviously wrong here.

Under OC Tweaker, scroll down under DRAM Timing Configuartiona nd there should be an XMP option. It should say 1.3 Profile with your RAM timings RAM speeds next to it. If it isn't enabled do it, I can't guarantee it'll fix your problem but that one person did it and it fixed theirs. If it doesn't help then nevertheless you should notice some sort of FPS gains. If you don't then keep XMP enables, no need for it to be turned off as it improves RAM speed timings.

i found out what the problem was my motherboard does not support my cpu but i have another question should i return my 9370 and get a 8370 or should i return my motherboard (i have to pay about $100 more for a new motherboard) but the thing is i dont have the money right now for a new motherboard and if i return my cpu then i wont have to pay a penny

Return the cpu, overclock the 8370 yourself. Profit.
