Hi there,
just downloaded the latest amd catalyst driver.
It's now got something called FRTC.
It essentially seems to simply 'cap framerates'....
which seems strange as you can already set the maximum fps in the launch console e.t.c...
(for example in steam: fps_max 61 ...)
However, i don't really know much about computers ,,,
so what's the benefit of using this software?
- the article i read said: lower heat, power and noise - which is great..
Is that all this FRTC update does?. as i mentioned - you could already do this yourself?
bit confused..
and i was under the impression that: more frames {to an extent} was generally better (even on a 60hz monitor)
thanks,
J
