Are you sure that he paid for that? Hotmail upgraded <i>everyone</i> to 250MB for free <i>because</i> of g-mail.He originally paid to 'upgrade' his hotmail account from 2Mb to 250Mb I think, either around the time g-mail came out or just before, so it wasn't that stupid at the time, but if he'd put in a little research beforehand he could have avoided all that pain.
I'm still at Hotmail myself, but that's because I've had that address for nearly a decade now so all of my friends and family know it. (That was <i>why</i> I got a Hotmail account in the first place, so that my email address doesn't change every time I change my ISP.)
I might have considered switching to g-mail had Hotmail not upgraded their free offering. At 2MB I was, on rare occasion, <i>close</i> to maxing out my account. At 250MB though I'll never have to worry about that again. It kind of reminds me of Geocities in that respect actually.
