Free operating system?

I have got an iMac g4 that i dont really use and i want to install a new operating system. I have tried a couple on linux ones but they dont work because it is so old. Does anybody know of any free operating systems that i would be able to install on my iMac?

I believe there are still PowerPC versions of Ubuntu etc. that are available.

Looks like it's just the Long Term Support releases, but here: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/precise/release/

Debian also has PowerPC support.
