Free Roam Racing/Sandbox Game With Car Customization?

Hey Guys!

I want an open world, racing/sandbox game with car customization for the PC. I know GTA 5 is coming soon, but I saw Need For Speed Undercover and it made me really want to play something like it now. So yup. Thanks!

NFS Undercover was just plain boring, in my opinion. The car handling was really bad and the storyline was really weak.
NFS rivals offers customization, unlike the 2012 most wanted. Other than that, you're probably going to have to go for the older titles, specifically most wanted 2005. Underground 2 was also pretty good.

Well you can wait for ubisoft's "The Crew". You can highly customize your stuff in that game .

Yeah, as Gman said, go for one of the older titles. I really liked NFS Carbon (even though it's a little short), NFS Most wanted 2005, and NFS underground 2.

Underground 2 is seriously the best racing game i have ever played. It has free roam, free roam for cars not made in campaign (only game i have seen to have this feature), LOTS for customization options (more than in the new games), Fun races, lots of different things to do etc.

Conclusion: you want it.

Last thing: This probablt isn't what you are looking for but there is a game that will be released after a while. It's called "scraps". You can make and design your own car and drive around in a sandbox world and compete and shoot other people's cars. I tried the demo, it's great

If you're into racing, you'd actually be much better off with a console than a PC.
And I'm a PC fanboy.
Gran Turismo and Forza are where the racing game scene is at.
