What problem or problems occurred with FORMAT FACTORY?

Why (as I understand your post) is the app being excluded?

Are there specific problems with joining and merging videos? Errors, restrictions, limits, etc...

More information needed.
Im just looking for a better alternative for format factory.
maybe there's something better that has better hardware acceleration support.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used). Heavy video editing use - correct?

If the hardware cannot support or fully support the software then nothing may be gained via another app.

FYI:

Did not find or note any specific hardware requirements for Format Factory. Just supported OS lists.

Will need to defer to any video editor types regarding other software options.

That support comes from AMD in the form of the codec they supply, no software uses anything else. What other apps could do would be to use different settings for default which might produce better looking results. (or not)

Format factory is just a frontend for the completely free ffmpeg so I would suggest you learn how to use that, it's a command line only tool so it's tough to get into but once you get the basics down it gets manageable, also support is great.
You can use this webpage to make the command line for whatever you want to do.
Select the 264 or hevc options for nvidia and change the nvenc part with amd
(hevc_amf h264_amf)

You could also try handbrake, but for any software you should always play with bitrate and other settings to find the best for your use.

Just use clipchamp. its built into windows 11. Its a very good video editor that lets you snap together and merge different videos easily and you donnt even have to download it
if you have windows 11 just search clipchamp in the searchbar
